Change in Holiday on account of Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid)

All Central Government Administrative Offices located at Delhi/New Delhi shall remain closed on 13th September, 2016 on account of Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) (in place of 12th September, 2016).

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Sub: Change of date of holiday on account of Id-ul-Fitr during 2016 for all Central Government administrative offices located at Delhi / New Delhi.

As per list of holidays circulated vide this Ministry’s 0.M.No.12/7/2015-JCA-2 dated the 11th June, 2015, the holiday on account of Id-ul-Fitr falls on Wednesday the 6th July, 2016. It has been brought to notice of this Ministry that in Delhi Id-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on 7th July, 2016. Accordingly, it has been decided to shift the Id-ul-Fitr holiday to 7th July, 2016 in place of 6th July, 2016 as notified earlier, for all Central Government administrative offices at Delhi / New Delhi.

2. For Offices outside Delhi / New Delhi the Employees Coordination Committee or Head of Offices (Where such committees are not functioning) can decide the date depending upon the decision of the concerned State Government.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

subject: Declaration or Holiday on 14th April, 2016 – Birthday of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar.

It has been decided to declare Thursday, the 14th April 2016, as a closed Holiday on account of the birthday of Dt.B.R.Ambedkar, for all Central Government Offices including Industrial Establishments throughout India.

2. The above holiday is also being notified in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 (26 of 1881).

3. All Ministries/Departments of Government of India may bring the above decision to the notice of all concerned.

NOTIFICATION

The Government of Goa is pleased to direct that the days specified in the Annexure-I shall be observed as Public Holidays and the days specified in the Annexure-II as Special Holidays in all Government Offices in the State of Goa during the year 2016 (Saka 1937-1938). All Government Offices will be functional on Special Holidays except if the Special Holidays occur on Saturday or Sunday.

2. In addition to the Holidays specified in Annexure-I and Annexure-II, employees are permitted to avail of any two holidays from the list of Restricted Holidays specified in Annexure-III.

3. The Government is also pleased to declare Commercial and Industrial Holidays for the Commercial and Industrail Workers in Goa as specified in Annexure-IV.

4. Further, in exercise of the power conferred under explanation to Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881 (Act 26 of 1881) read with Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi, vide Notification No.U.11030/2/73-UTL dated 28/6/1973, the Government of Goa is also pleased the days specified in Annexure-V as Bank Holidays in the State of Goa.

Subject: Bye Election to the State Legislative Assemblies of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, Telangana, Maharashtra, Punjab and Tripura — Grant of Paid holiday – regarding

The undersigned is directed to say that in connection with the Bye Election to the State Legislative Assemblies of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, Telangana, Maharashtra, Punjab and Tripura, scheduled to be held in February, 2016, the following guidelines, already issued by this Department vide Office Memorandum No. 12/14/99-JCA dated 10.10.2001, have to be followed inrespect of the Central Government Offices, including Industrial Establishments in the States : –

In connection with bye-election to State Assembly, only such of the employees who are bona-fide voters in the relevant constituency should be granted special casual leave on the day of polling. Special Casual leave may also be granted to an employee, who is ordinarily a resident of constituency and registered as a voter, but employed in any Central Government Organization/ Industrial
Establishment located outside the constituency having the bye-election.

2. The above instructions may please be brought to the notice of all concerned.
