The data required for calculation of pension by option 1 recommended by the 7th pay commission and accepted by the cabinet is available in this book.. It is a matter of a few minutes to calculate the pension based on this data.. I am really aghast to learn that option 1 is rejected by the Pension department with the reason of non-feasibility. Secondly, a small percentage of retired employees get some additional benefit by this option 1.. Then why not give them this extra benefit ? It will be a nice gesture on the part of the authorities concerned to reconsider this option 1 once again in favour of such of those retired govt.servants who will loose considerably if not this option 1 is implemented.
