TN Chief Minister announcing bonus for State Public Sector and Board employees

The State Government of Tamil Nadu announced Bonus to the employees today(Tuesday). In press release, the Chief Minister said a bonus of 8.33% and Ex-Gratia of 11.67% would be disbursed to the employees of Public Sector Units that made profits during the corresponding year.

The eligible employees of PSUs would get minimum of Rs.8400 and maximum of Rs.16,800 as Diwali Bonus this year.

DA for Bank Employees and Pensioners from August, September and October 2018 under 10th BPS

Dearness Allowance for Workmen and Officer Employees in Banks for the month of August, September and October 2018 under 10th BPS / Joint Note dated 25.5.2015

The confirmed All India Average Consumer Price Index Numbers for Industrial Workers (Base 1960=100) for the quarter ended June 2018 are as follows…

April 2018 – 6573.86
May 2018 – 6596.69
June 2018 – 6642.34

The average CPI of the above is 6604.29 and accordingly the number of DA slabs is 541 (6604.29 – 4440 = 2164.29 / 4 = 541 Slabs).

In the last quarter, payment of DA was at 529 slabs. Hence, there is an increase in DA Slabs of 12, i.e. 541 slabs for payment of DA for the quarter August, September and October 2018.

In therms of clause 7 of the 10th Bipartite Settlement dated 25.05.2015 and clause 3 of the Joint Note dated 25.05.2015, the rate of Dearness Allowance to workmen and officer employees for the months of August, September and October 2018 shall be 54.10% of ‘Pay’. While arriving at dearness allowance payable, decimals from third place may please be ignored.

The Central Government employees who are covered by CPF Rules (India) 1962 and who retired on or after 01.01.1986 are not entitled to any monthly pension/ex-gratia amount. However, the Government employees under CPF who retired between 18.11.1960 and 31.12.1985 are entitled to monthly ex-gratia amount of the following rates:

Dearness ex-gratia equal to 50% of the amount of ex-gratia and Dearness Relief, as notified from time to time as per 5th Central Pay Commission series, on the sums of amount of ex-gratia and dearness ex-gratia is being paid to them. There is no proposal to increase the aforesaid rates.

OFFICE MEMORANDUM

Subject: Grant of Dearness Relief to CPF beneficiaries in receipt of ex-gratia payment w.e.f 01.01.2016.

In continuation of this Department’s OM No. 42/10/2014-P&PW(G) dated 28th Oct, 2015, the President is pleased to grant the Dearness Relief at the rate of 5th CPC w.e.f. 1.1.2016 to the following :

The surviving CPF beneficiaries who have retired from service between the period 18.11.1960 to 31.12.1985 and are in receipt of ex-gratia @ Rs.600/-p.m. w.e.f. 01.11.1997 under this Department’s OM No. 45/52/97-P&PW(E) dated 16.12.1997 & revised to Rs.3000, Rs.1000, Rs.750 & Rs.650 for Group A, B, C & D respectively w.e.f 4th June,2013 vide OM No. 1/10/2012-P&PW(E) dtd. 27th June, 2013 are entitled to Dearness Relief @ 245% w.e.f. 01.01.2016.

(ii) The following categories of CPF beneficiaries who are in receipt of ex-gratia payment in terms of this Department’s OM No. 45/52/97-P&PW(E) dated 16.12.1997 are entitled to DR @ 237 % w.e.f. 01.01.2016.

(a) The widows and dependent children of the deceased CPF beneficiary who had retired from service prior to 1.1.1986 or who had died while in service prior to 1.1.1986 and are in receipt of Ex-gratia payment of Rs. 605/- p.m. & revised to Rs 645/-p.m with effect from 04th June ,2013 vide OM No. 1/10/2012-P&PW(E) dated 27th June,2013.

(b) Central Government employees who had retired on CPF benefits before 18.11.1960 and are in receipt of Ex-gratia payment of Rs. 654/-, Rs. 659/-, Rs. 703/- and Rs. 965/-.

2. Payment of DR involving a fraction of a rupee shall be rounded off to the next higher rupee.

In their application to the Indian Audit and Accounts Department, these orders issue in consultation with the C&AG.

3. This issues as per Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure vide their OM No 1(4)/EV/2004 dated 25.05.2015 and OM No.1(3)/2008-E.II(B) dated 22.04.2016.
